Thanks to the incredible generosity of a friend & coworker at Scott's school, we will be heading to Disney World this summer and staying for free at their lovely timeshare resort and condominium. I can't even begin to express how fully we appreciate this and it will be a first visit for both kiddos! I don't honestly know who is more excited........Lauren or her Daddy and I! LOL Tyler will be tickled too, but honestly right now he's just happy pushing his Tonka truck around! Oh, and he's ready for Mama to be done with this "blogging biz-ness" for the day!! ;)
We are staying for 7 nights but only plan to spend 2 or 3 days at the actual parks. We also plan to spend a day or more at the beach(the gulf side is our favorite!) and visit one or two other attractions. We absolutely wish to take in the Magic Kingdom as we believe both children will adore it, but are not completely certain about what else is a must see.
From following along with other fabulous blogs out there, I KNOW many of you visit Disney yearly or just about yearly and I am hoping that you might take a moment to leave a comment with any tips or must see attractions we should plan to do while visiting the park(s). We are hoping to schedule a "Character" breakfast or lunch and have heard that Epcot might be best for dining with a larger range of Disney characters? We do plan to rent the double (big kid) stroller as we know Tyler will probably get worn out long before he's ready to leave for the day! :) And what about those Fast Passes? I've heard they are lifesavers!
Any other tried and true tips or suggestions? I welcome them all and appreciate them SO MUCH! Disney World or bust!
Happy Friday to you all and happy weekend!

HAVE a MARVELOUS time!!
I'm sending you an e-mail. :)
I have no advice, but I am so excited for you!!! Have a BLAST!
oh my gosh...so exciting!
HOW FUN!!! We have Mickey Fever too, but we'll only make it the Land not the WORLD! I hear it's incredible and requires a LOT of walking. If you have a stroller that holds Lauren's weight, you might want to bring it - My sister-in-law said Peyton wouldn't be ready to "walk" the whole thing yet, so just a thought! Have an awesome time!!!!!
So fun! Aiden loved the Magic Kingdom (well, he was only 17 months old) but he loved lots of the shows at Hollywood studios too- Playhouse Disney was a blast for him! Sarah will have great advice for you :)
Wow....fantastic. You are gonna love it...oh...and the kids too! (lol)
We have a time-share there too and are hoping to go back next Christmas. We were there with Dahlia in Nov 2008 and we LOVED it. We only had 3 days and spent them all at Magic Kingdom and Epcot center. The princesses were a highlight. ( For me too....I was giddy most of the time.) We went to every princess photo op and signing we could but we also found a few favs at Epcot center. Mulan can be found at the Chinese pavillion at Epcot and Snow White can be found around the German pavillion at Epcot too. Though she wanders through Magic Kingdom too.
The Parade through main street in the Kingdom is a must. It's at 3PM I think. Also the fireworks at the castle each night. (Depending on the time of dusk, I think.) You will LOVE the castle. At night, it is breathtaking. My absolute fav thing though was the "It's a small world" ride just above that wonderful carosel, just north of the castle. I still dream about it. We went over and over. I just LOved it!
We also booked dinner at the (I think) Norwegian restaurant at Epcot where we met most of the princesses again at our table.
Again....just magical.
Really there is so much to see that I think we need at least a week. Because there are so many other places to go as well as Epcot and Kingdom. (I think Sea
World may be closed now though.)But getting to the beach is important too.
What we did was run through everything as quickly as we could - with returning with more time to really take in much more at a later date in mind. You almost can't see everything in that short at time. And it is exhausting (but so worth the blisters).
I posted some of the highlights on my blog labeled Dahlia and her princesses.
I'm excited just thinking about you and your gang going there. Lauren will just love it, I know!!
xoxo
Oh, I'm sorry, I just wrote a book. Should have -emailed you.
sheesh! Sorry.
SOOOOOO FUN!!! What great friends to offer such a gift:)
I know you need to schedule your character breakfast or dinner NOW!! They fill up fast especially in the summer.
You will have so much fun(all of you) and we love the gulf side too.
Oh how exciting..
We have gone almost every year or other year since the kids are little...and MAGIC KINGDOM is a must...
It is so much fun..JUST enjoy it and take it all in..and while I know it is an expense..just try to enjoy it and NOT be achieving..b/c then the vacation feels like a job and not a vacation...When I finally relaxed and just went with the flow...I enjoyed it much better..we went when I was 6 mts pregnant in the SUMMER with number 5 and again when she was just shy of one years old..if I did NOT take that approach I would have went NUTS!
Hope that helps..plus..just try to have a game plan with the show times..kind of plan what you want to see..b/c you do NOT want to be walking from one end of the park to the other to catch another show..IT gets REAL stressful...so if you map it out at your hotel..that helps alot..
I try to number the map at my hotel..and go accordingly..but sometimes that plan has to be altered at the park..b/c of the little ones..
Have a MARVELOUS TIME!!!
SUper excited for you!!!! I'm out of town right now, so I'll send ya an email with natalies favorite things ;)

Sounds like sooo much fun.. We are due for another Disney trip... maybe next year. My best advice is to try each park.. there is something at each park for the kiddies--even Epcot.. Have fun.

Hi, We go to Disney a lot! Plan to go to Animal Kingdom. The kids will love the Safari ride. Epcot is a must see too. There is lots to do there for little ones. The space is huge so crowds aren't a problem. The night fireworks show is amazing. I would space out your days at the parks with down time at your hotel pool or Downtown Disney.Plan to bring your own stroller. It will save you $$ in renting one each day at the park.Have a great trip!
Awesome! We're going to Magic Kingdom in June!!! We're getting 3 free tickets through the community service project program they advertise on TV and on their website - Give a day, get a disney ticket...something like that. You have to be 6 yrs. old, so Josh doesn't get a free one, but it sure helps!!!
In addition to Magic Kingdom, I recommend EPCOT. Even though it seems more "adult", they have a little craft project for the kids as you go around the countries. Plus the rides in future world are fairly kid friendly. EPCOT also has dining with the Princesses which is an amazing experience if you can manage it. But book now, it fills up! Next choice would be Disney's Hollywood Studios, especially if the kids are into playhouse disney. We went at the height of T's Little Einsteins phase & she loved the shows & the characters & we even had lunch with Playhouse disney characters. Have not been to Animal Kingdom in awhile, but despite the animals, that would be our last choice there. We feel the kids enjoy our local zoo better. We have been just about every year since we have had the girls (my parents live nearby) so if you have any questions, let me know!!
Yippee! What a fun and exciting trip!! We so enjoyed Disney last year, and the beach will be a blast as well! Fast passes rock and the double stroller is a must! You will have soo much fun, it will surely be a trip to remember!!
